Vinification: Select whole clusters pressed using gentle pneumatic press. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. No fining. No filtration.
Aging: Alsatian foudre, 6 months on lees
Sulfur added: None

Notes: The blended limestone and Muschelkalk—chockfull of fossils and shells—terroirs of the Dionysiuskapelle plot are characterized by a pronounced minerality in the wines. The vines surround a chapel dedicated to Dionysus, the god of fertility (and wine, and pleasure), located in the village of Wolxheim, which stands on the same site as an original ancient Roman chapel built for the deity.

Fresh, young and vibrant, with softer notes and mouth feel lingering from malolactic fermentation. Fun-drinking now, with excellent aging potential.
